Holy crap man. That's some great stuff! The energy level of this track is just through the roof.
Good balanced mix too. I like the instrumentation. Chiptune-esque sounds seem to blend very well with the other electronic sounds. Good work!

Beautiful track you've got here! I wasn't very impressed by the intro to be honest, it was a little cliché with the 1/8th house-synth stabs. But to each their own. The beautiful piano melody made up for it though.

Then the drop came and wow, I was amazed. It has a bit of that oriental Japanese feel, if you understand what I mean. I like that kind of vibe in my own tracks too, so that's always good imo!

I'm just wondering, how do you get your stuff so loud? I guess it's making sure the sub doesn't stick out of the mix too much? But I'm always a bit reluctant to push it that much because it crushes the dynamics a lot. But I think it works really well with this type of music.

You've earned yourself a follower + Faved/5'd !

I'm glad you enjoyed overall! Loudness is part of mixing and mastering, just gotta make sure your sub and perc is the focus and that should give your mix the room later to boost the overall presence of the track. giving your track room to breathe by smartly using your frequency range is super important as well, use EQ liberally and give each instrument its own frequency space if possible, because then when you boost the overall volume your track still has room to breathe dynamic wise.

EDIT: also wanted to say, didn't recognize your username but i've heard tracks from you before a long while back! thanks for the review! :D

Those drums are really smacking. But I feel like they are a bit too much in the foreground. I can hardly hear the rest of the instruments. I think that the heavy sidechaining already does the job of making space for the drums. And I know that the drums are supposed to be loud in this genre, but I'd say.. maybe a little bit too much..

I think the vocals could also be about a db or two louder. And the sub could be a lot louder than what it is right now. Right now it feels like the drums (which are excellent by themselves) are really taking over the rest of the song too much.

That being said. The sounddesign is excellent. And like I said before, the drums are slamming and super punchy. It's 99% there.. It's sooo close to being on the level of a commercial record..

Yeah, this has that melodic synthy sound that I personally like a lot. The drums are really smacking. The little arpeggio sounds and pads really give it that "Galaxy-esque" feel.

You really seem to enjoy the sound-design. There's a lot of attention to details that will go unnoticed if you don't listen closely.

Great work here.

Bouncy track! It has that ska-offbeat rhythm to it that really lifts you up and gives it that driving energy.

I think the offbeat synth and main melody might be clashing a little bit, I'd lower the volume of the offbeat synth when the main melody is playing in the same register. Or maybe I'd make it so that the two don't overlap eachother by shifting one of them an octave.

But you did pretty good for something that is made in 2 hours. And lol, I recognised the T-Force Alpha Plus sound right away! Hahaha.. I used it in one of my tracks from 2013, called "Avizura - You and Me Against The World".

Nice work!

SpeedoRH responds:

Hi! Thanks for supporting by giving a review! The track was intended to be bouncy, even because the genre of this remix is Happy Hardcore. I might update it to fix some stuff on the remix.
Thank you so much again for the review.

Balanced mix, punchy drums and basslines. You're really good at this, you know?
I like the pads you've used, it gives the track a sort of "dangerous" or "ominous" edge.
Then when the bassline kicks in, it just goes crazy. The bassline is fairly melodic for the genre, but I think it helps in making the track recognisable and interesting.

Keep it up!

KaixoMusic responds:

Thanks again :D

I think this might work in a System Shock level. Cool piece of music!

It really sounds like wandering on another planet. It has the right groove and atmosphere for that concept.
I'm kind of curious how you built this track. The picture on your bandcamp page shows a cassette tape, did you record it on cassette? It has a bit of that type of compression, it sounds like the big fat kick is eating away everything else in the track, which makes for a pretty cool effect.
I was kind of hoping for more of a climax at the end, maybe something a bit different from the first section, but it doesn't ruin the track. It's just something that I think would have been better.

CrossCanadian responds:

Dude thanks for the great feedback! Actually the whole concept for the EP and the cassette tape is while I was working on this EP I had made some mp3 clips as teasers, but I lost all my actual editable files when I reset my computer (dumb mistake really). So I sat on these for over a year, and decided to release them as I have on Bandcamp. As far as the creation goes it was just a layering of synths in FL Studio. But going forward I am definitely going to have better production sound and get really fun with this project! I am going to be posting more on Newgrounds soon!

Very interesting combination of genres and they all work quite well together.
Good production, very professional-sounding.

Great track all-around.

KaixoMusic responds:

Thanks!!

I'm 6 years too late, but wanted to say that I'm quite impressed by your work!
It's very accurate to the original, which is impressive because I never released a MIDI or anything.

I might remake the original some day (maybe in 2024, when the new Chinese Year of the Dragon starts) haha.
