That's an odd snare, I've never heard it pitched that high. But it sounds pretty cool and it makes space for the other elements in your mix. Some nice work on the hats too. I like the crescendo that the house-like synth keeps making. It's almost as if it's talking to you lol.
I think the intro might be a bit too empty. I think it would be better if you filled it with a bit more stuff to keep the listeners attention, so they don't click away before the drop. (Or maybe shorten it? Idk)

CreatingVoid responds:

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I'll be sure to take a look at the future songs and I'll keep this in mind! Hope you enjoyed!

New songs on the way!

Has a bit of that early Metallica vibe to it in the beginning.
It sounds like the guitars a bit too much in the background. I'd put that more in the foreground compared to the drums and bass. Did you put reverb over the guitar?

I enjoyed it though! The part at 1:14 was unexpected, but very cool! I'd love to hear more from that last part and hear what it turns into. The drums are nice and trashy, which is what I like in my Heavy Metal.

tansuma1 responds:

Thank you! I'll be sure to expand on this at some point in the future. I will work on making the guitar sound like it is more in the foreground too. I did put a reverb on it, only a slight one though. That's possibly why it sounds like it is in the background. :)

Great mix-down and track all around. You're mixing some really interesting beat-work with that characteristic dark-edge. You should be recognised for your characteristic sound!

Adjeye responds:

Thanks man, never feel like changing the little dark mood I do. I feel like makkng music that way is the only true me.

Wow, nice bit of polyrhythm here. We had to spend about a month learning about polyrhythm at school. Interesting to see you progressing so quickly musically.

Keep at it!

Adjeye responds:

Thanks! Still exploring ways to make my music more intresting!

Glad to see that you're still making music. You've improved significantly since the last time, but are still staying true to what represents your sound (which imo is that dark moody edge).

A shame that I'm the first reviewer ... I hope your track gets more attention.

Adjeye responds:

I don’t care all too much for exposure anymore, I do music for me nowadays. I still find joy in seeing others enjoy it aswel tho, so thanks!

I think the lead line will sound better if it sustains a bit more and is a little bit less detuned.
I like the rest of it a lot. It really has that melancholic sound to it, especially in the breakdown at around 3:00. The breakdown is excellent and so is the payoff.

Now that I think of it, the track has a bit of that Mega Man ZX vibe to it (Green Grass Gradation).
Anyway, good work on this remix. Rainbow Road has always been one of my favourite audio tracks from MK64, thank you for putting the time into making this remix!

I was enjoying this until it suddenly cut off at 0:55 :-(
Haha, oh well... I'll have to buy the album when it comes out.

Nice work!

I like the ... 5/4 (?) signature you've used. I usually don't divide my 5/4 beats like you do. It's wonderful in how many ways you can divide that signature.
The sudden changes were welcome too! Makes it really sound like something is going wrong.

I wonder if this is actually possible on a real SID-chip, it has quite a lot of depth in terms of stuff going on at the same time. But if you tried to imitate the SID-chip, I assume you know about it's limitations. So if you did keep the limitations in mind, it's pretty mind-blowing what you did. Creating a whole world of sound with just those 3 tracks.

I'll have to show this to Jeroen Tel sometime.

Good job!

benja14xd responds:

Thank you for listening my track.
I love using non-4/4 time signatures (like 3/4, or in this case 5/4)
Things like 3 channel polyphony, only pulse, saw, triangle and noise, Ring mod, cutoff, resonance (and the possibility to change "instrument" during playback) makes the SID something more capable than a 2A03, even using the same tricks like the "Follin brothers 1 channel echo"
The song was made in FL Studio, and I tried to have all the limitations in mind, so... if someone try to make a C64 play this, i will be possible (in some way).

There is a video in my youtube channel showing what is going with the three channel in the whole song, if you're interesed.

I'm not at all familiar with this type of Electronic Music, but it certainly sounds very professional.
Also, this stuff is loooooud man. I'm always a bit reluctant to smack the dynamics of my tracks so much, but it certainly gives it "that" sound. Good work, keep it up.

Wow. That is some heavy side-chaining right there.
I have nothing to add. Professional production all around.

Are you yourself satisfied with the end result?
